Forsyth County Schools (FCS) serves more than 49,300 students across 39 schools in Forsyth County, Georgia. The district is the seventh largest school system in Georgia and the largest employer in Forsyth County with about 7,600 full or part-time employees and substitutes.

Located northeast of Atlanta, Forsyth County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States. The county seat is Cumming. According to U.S. Census Bureau 2017 estimates, the population is 227,967.

Student enrollment in FCS has grown 215 percent since 2000. The district has built 20 new schools and all existing schools have undergone additions or modifications. Four new schools are projected to open by 2022: Poole's Mill ES (2020), East Forsyth HS and MS #11 (2021), and ES #23 (2022).

Elementary schools in FCS may feed into one, two, or three middle schools. Each middle school may feed into more than one high school. Attendance zones for each school is determined by home address.
