South Buckhead / Brookwood Hills / Collier Hills / Ardmore Park

Sobu, as it is coming to be known, comprises Brookwood Hills, Collier Hills and Ardmore Park in an area that begins at the Brookwood Interchange and continues north along Peachtree. The Northside Trail, with its canopy of trees ties the areas together to celebrate nature, and was the first northern segment of the Atlanta BeltLine.

South Buckhead is prized as a place to live, and it's easy to ride the MARTA red line or catch a bus to take you to Downtown, Midtown, or to nearby attractions like restaurants and shopping. Brookwood Station offers one of the cheaper parking rates if you want to leave your car and take a train to the airport to get out of town. Locals take to the trail as often as possible to get some fresh air and exercise.

Apartments and condos, townhomes and lofts dot the neighborhood, and a variety of architectural styles adds to the charm of this artsy, lively neighborhood. An abundance of galleries, eateries, and some evening gathering spots give it a charm that attracts younger patrons, with a vibe that’s more celebration than settled lifestyle. This is a community of new ideas, of "living life to the fullest," not unlike Miami's South Beach or New York's trendy neighborhoods.

In the 1880s, prominent hotel owner Joseph Thompson and his wife built an estate in the area and named it Brookwood. Today the AMTRAK station also bears the name. Brookwood Hills is home to over 3,000 residents, and was the site of some of the bloodiest Civil War battles.
