Find out as much as you can about your new home.
Make a list of the things that are most important to you like swim team, ballet lessons, etc. and get information on them at your new home.
Try to visit your new school before you enroll. Get a handbook or yearbook to see what clubs and activities are available and what the kids are wearing.
At your new school, remember to smile and say hello. Ask kids you'd like to get to know questions about classes and school.
Ask your teacher or counselor about other new students and get to know them.
Get involved with school activities. It's a good way to meet new friends.
After the move keep in touch with your old friends. Send photos of your new home and school. Invite them for a visit to your new home.
Get settled in your room at your new home as soon as possible. Think about all the exciting new things you can do in your new home.
Plan an outing with your family or new friends to a fun, new place.
Give yourself time to adjust and don't be too hard on yourself or your parents.
